  1. Which type of yoga is right for you?

To get the most benefit, you should choose a yoga style that matches your current fitness level, as well as your personality and goals for practicing yoga. Click here for details.

  1. What should I wear to class?

Wear tight-fitting clothes that you can easily move and stretch in. We recommend leggings, crops and tank tops for ladies. Shorts must be tight fitting as we have postures that will make you open and lift your legs. For men, cycling shorts, gym shorts is best. A tight fitting shirt or tank top is also good. Don’t wear anything too loose or baggy as it will make it difficult for you to breathe when you bend forward.

  1. Is there an age limit for yoga & Pilates?

For all normal classes, our minimum age is 14. There is really no maximum age. We have regular practitioners who are in their 60s. Kids between 3 -11 years old are encouraged to attend Kids Yoga.

  1. What should I bring to class?

We recommend you to bring your own yoga mat, towel and water bottle. Props such as bolsters, blocks, fitballs and straps are provided, which some teachers use to assist students in postures.

  1. Do I need to prebook the class?

All scheduled classes are drop-in and is based on first come first served. Arrive at least 10 minutes before the start time of the class to sign in.

  1. Can I eat before the class?

We do not recommend eating a full meal within 2 hours of a class but a light meal or snack is best. Surya Yoga Aman Suria & Kuchai has a salad bar serving delicious, freshly made juices, sandwiches and salads. You can pre-order your food or juice before your class and they will be ready for you after your class either to eat in or take away with you. Click here for the menu.

It depends on the nature of the injury. Both yoga and Pilates can be great for rehabilitation from injuries. Inform the instructor before the class starts if you have any medical condition or injury that limits your range of motion.
